Android - Add Contacts to a Group From Your Contacts

Overview

The purpose of a group is to identify the specific people who will receive a text or email. While the size of the group is unlimited it is generally more practical to keep the group size under 50 and utilize multiple groups.

1. Ensure you are in the Group

To start adding contacts, it is necessary to create a new group or go to an already existing one. You can read instructions on how to Create a New Group.

2. Tap Green Button at the Lower Right Corner

Locate the green button, which is in the lower right corner. Tap on it to add a contact.

3. Allow Access to Your Contacts

After clicking the button, a permissions popup could appear (Permissions for Contacts are required if they have not been previously granted). If you tap the “Allow” button, the app will display your contacts.

4. Select Contacts and tap Add button

You can add one, multiple, or all contacts from your contact list to a group.

  • To select one contact, simply tap on the contact's name.
  • To select all contacts, open the context menu by tapping the button in the upper right corner of the screen. Choose "Select all".

  • To select multiple contacts, tap and hold the contact until a checkmark appears next to the contact's name. Tap on additional contacts you wish to add. The checkmark will appear next to each selected contact.

Once you have selected the desired contacts, tap the "ADD" button located in the upper right corner of the screen.

5. Settings of Selected Contacts

  • Adding a Single Contact. If you add a single contact, a new page will open allowing you to edit the details of the selected contact. Here, you can: change the contact's first and last names, set a default method for sending messages, specify a phone number or email address for message delivery, establish the communication line from which messages will be sent and set template field.

  • Adding Multiple Contacts. If you add several contacts, a different page will appear where you can set preferences for all the contacts you're adding. This page allows you to: select a default communication method, choose the phone line (if you have more than one) from which messages will be sent and set template field.

6. Complete the Addition

Complete the addition by pressing the "ADD" button in the upper right corner.

After completing these steps, the added contacts will be displayed within the group. You can repeat the single or multiple contacts add process as many times as need to complete your group.
